The Ministry of Culture, represented by the Egyptian General Book Organization, announced the opening of booking requests for publishers wishing to participate in the 57th session of the Cairo International Book Fair, scheduled to be held in January 2026, under the patronage of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt. The booking will close on October 20.

The organization explained that registration is done electronically through the publishers’ portal as part of the digital transformation plan adopted by the Ministry of Culture to facilitate procedures and ensure transparency and accuracy in dealing with publishers inside and outside Egypt.

The Cairo International Book Fair is considered one of the oldest and largest book fairs in the Arab world and Africa, annually attracting hundreds of local, Arab, and international publishing houses, in addition to wide participation from cultural institutions and educational bodies. The fair also represents a major cultural and intellectual platform that brings together writers, creators, and readers in an annual event eagerly awaited by culture and knowledge enthusiasts.

The Egyptian General Book Organization, the fair’s organizer, confirmed that the new session will witness developments in organizational structure and services provided to exhibitors and the public, in line with Cairo’s status as one of the most important cultural capitals in the region.

The session is scheduled to include diverse intellectual and creative activities, cultural seminars, meetings with prominent thinkers and writers, alongside programs aimed at children and youth.

The Ministry of Culture is keen to keep the fair a window for civilizational and cultural communication between Egypt and the world, presenting a vivid image of cultural and creative diversity, while reflecting efforts to support the publishing industry and expand the reading base, considering it a fundamental pillar of sustainable development and human building.

By inviting local, Arab, and international publishing houses to participate in this major event, the Cairo International Book Fair 2026 continues to affirm its position as one of the most prominent cultural events in the region, an event awaited by millions of readers annually.
