The final statement of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) meeting called on the UN Security Council to hold a session regarding the aggression against the Palestinian people, supporting the efforts of Qatar, Egypt, and the US to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza. The statement condemned Israel’s obstinacy and refusal to respond to attempts to reach a truce in Gaza, demanding the opening of crossings and the unhindered, sufficient entry of aid into Gaza. It also called for ensuring the freedom of operation of relief agencies in Gaza, foremost among them UNRWA.

The statement rejected Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s irresponsible remarks about the ‘Greater Israel Vision’ and strongly condemned the recent assassination of journalists and media personnel in Gaza, emphasizing the necessity for the Palestinian government to assume its responsibilities throughout the occupied territories.

In a firm condemnation reflecting a unified Arab position, both Egypt and Saudi Arabia rejected Netanyahu’s statements about the ‘Greater Israel Vision,’ describing them as illusions. These remarks, in which Netanyahu hinted at expanding occupation, were met with outright rejection from Cairo and Riyadh, which stressed that such expansionist ideas would only fuel conflict and destroy peace prospects in the region.

Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry reaffirmed Egypt’s rejection of Netanyahu’s recent statements about his vision of ‘Greater Israel,’ as reported by official Egyptian media. Netanyahu had stated in an Israeli TV interview that he feels he is on a ‘historic and spiritual mission’ and is ‘very committed’ to the ‘Greater Israel Vision,’ a statement understood as an intention to expand occupation into several Arab countries, including Egypt and Jordan.

Shoukry said Egypt completely rejects the recent Israeli statements regarding the illusions of what is called ‘Greater Israel,’ which reflect nothing but arrogance of power, and Egypt will neither accept nor allow their implementation.

These remarks were made during Shoukry’s participation in the extraordinary session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the OIC member states in Jeddah on Monday to discuss Israeli attacks on Palestinians.

He added that such ideas will only escalate the conflict, expand its scope, and eliminate the prospects for peaceful coexistence among peoples in the region.

Shoukry also accused Israel of committing genocide against an unarmed people, obstructing the work of UN institutions, forcing displacement, and deliberately ignoring mediators’ attempts to reach a truce in Gaza.

He stressed the need to pressure Israel to accept the deal proposed by US envoy Steve Gutman and reiterated Egypt’s rejection of the liquidation of the Palestinian cause and condemned the expansion of Israeli military operations in Gaza.

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan also condemned Israeli statements about the ‘Greater Israel Vision.’

At the extraordinary ministerial meeting of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers, Prince Faisal affirmed Saudi Arabia’s condemnation of recent Israeli statements regarding the so-called ‘Greater Israel Vision’ and its total rejection of the settlement and expansionist projects adopted by the Israeli occupation authorities, affirming the historic right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state.

He added that Israeli practices in Gaza constitute the greatest threat to security and peace and called on the international community to immediately put an end to the crimes committed by Israeli occupation forces, firmly reject the occupation authority’s announcement of its intention to impose full military control over Gaza, and resolutely confront plans aimed at displacing the Palestinian people from their land.

Prince Faisal stressed the importance of taking all necessary steps and measures to break the siege and deliver relief and humanitarian aid in full cooperation with international mechanisms, demanding the occupation forces open all crossings and allow urgent and sufficient entry and passage of aid without any obstacles.

The Saudi Foreign Minister also reviewed bilateral relations with his Iraqi counterpart and discussed regional developments, especially the situation in Gaza and ongoing efforts, on the sidelines of the 21st extraordinary session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers held at the organization’s headquarters in Jeddah to discuss the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people.
