Sources within the Egyptian Social Democratic Party told “Youm7” that the party has decided to contest the 2025 parliamentary elections in 35 single-member districts. Prominent candidates include Manuel Atef in Minya, Hossam Mostafa in Assiut, Bassam Hammad in Assiut, and Mohamed Nabil in Al-Omraneya.
The sources also indicated that the party will field about 8 or 9 candidates on the national list for Egypt, headed by current MPs Freddy El-Biady, Deputy Chairman of the party, Ihab Mansour, and Maha Abdelnasser.
Committees for receiving and reviewing candidacy papers for the 2025 parliamentary elections, numbering 28 committees across Cairo and other governorates, began accepting applications on Wednesday morning. The application period lasts eight days from Wednesday, October 8, until Wednesday, October 15. Applications are accepted daily from 9 AM to 5 PM, except the last day until 2 PM.
