The Directorate of Supply and Internal Trade in Beheira Governorate announced the success of a supply campaign in apprehending a bakery owner who seized a large quantity of subsidized flour and sold it on the black market.
According to an official statement from the directorate, the inspection campaign managed to catch the bakery owner selling 20 bags of subsidized local flour through illegal means, exploiting government support to gain unlawful profits.
A report was filed on the incident and the accused was referred to the public prosecution to take the necessary legal measures.
Strict Directives from Beheira Governor
Dr. Jacqueline Azar, Governor of Beheira, emphasized the importance of continuing intensive supply campaigns to confront all forms of commercial fraud and tampering with subsidized flour.
The governor confirmed that preserving the support provided by the state to millions of citizens is a top priority, especially amid great efforts to ensure the stability of the bread system, which is one of the most important pillars of food security for citizens.
She explained that any violations or breaches will be dealt with firmly according to the law, pointing out that tampering with subsidized goods is a crime as serious as any threat to community security, as it constitutes a direct assault on the rights of citizens entitled to support.
Supply Ministry: No Tolerance for Corrupt Individuals
Mohamed Ragab Hadiya, Undersecretary of the Supply Ministry in Beheira, confirmed that the ministry continues to implement round-the-clock inspection campaigns on bakeries, warehouses, and markets to ensure full compliance with the laws and regulations governing supply work.
He added that the campaigns rely on secret plans and precise monitoring to catch violations at their inception.
Hadiya pointed out that the Egyptian state provides significant support to the supply sector, especially the bread system that affects citizens’ daily lives, which requires everyone to unite to protect this support and ensure that eligible citizens benefit from it without exploitation or corruption.
Reassuring Messages to Citizens
At the end of the statements, Beheira Governorate sent a reassuring message to citizens, confirming that various state agencies continue their efforts to monitor violators and deter anyone who dares to harm citizens’ interests or tamper with subsidized goods.
Citizens were urged to immediately report any supply violations they witness through the designated complaint numbers to ensure quick action and law enforcement.
