Tripoli, October 8, 2025 (WAL) – The European Union reaffirmed that supporting national reconciliation through a comprehensive approach and broad participation remains at the heart of its efforts to enhance Libya’s unity, peace, and stability.

This was stated in a tweet by the EU Ambassador to Libya, Nicola Orlando, following his participation in the opening of a seminar held yesterday Tuesday at the Libyan Academy in Tripoli, titled “A Human Rights-Based Approach to Achieve Transitional Justice.”

Orlando said: “This seminar serves as a platform bringing together a select group of experts, academics, and representatives of Libyan civil society to promote national dialogue on the means and mechanisms to achieve transitional justice and reconciliation, contributing to building fair and inclusive institutions that pave the way for a stable and secure future for all Libyans.”

The seminar, part of the EU-funded “Justice” program implemented in partnership with the organization “No Peace Without Justice,” included the participation of Presidential Council Deputy Abdullah Al-Lafi, according to the EU Ambassador’s tweet.
