Leaders of the Free National Coalition have revealed the final preparations underway to contest the upcoming House of Representatives elections, confirming that the competition will be strong and tough, and that the electoral marathon has a special nature different from the previous Senate elections.
The head of the Democratic Generation Party and general coordinator of the Free National Coalition, Nagy El-Shebaby, said the coalition has reached the final touches in preparing the four lists to compete on, noting that the West and East Delta lists have been completed, and work is currently underway to finalize the Cairo and Upper Egypt lists.
El-Shebaby explained to “Al-Shorouk” that the coalition includes influential local figures and leaders who have clear contributions within their communities and are capable of mobilizing the political street towards positive participation in the electoral process.
He added that the competition in the House of Representatives elections is harder and more complicated than the Senate elections, confirming that the Democratic Generation Party will be reborn through these entitlements by fielding about 50 candidates under the individual system, noting that each party within the Free National Coalition will field its candidates individually under the individual system.
Meanwhile, the head of the National Egypt Party and member of the Free National Coalition, Michael Raphael, told “Al-Shorouk” that the coalition will compete on all four lists in the upcoming House of Representatives elections, explaining that work is underway to finalize them completely and they will be submitted once the names are agreed upon with the leaders of the participating parties.
Regarding the participation of the National Egypt Party in the elections, Raphael explained that the party intends to field 15 candidates for individual seats alongside its share in the Free National Coalition’s electoral lists.
Regarding the agreement of the National List for Egypt, which includes 12 parties and the Coordination of Youth Parties and Politicians, to vacate 46 individual constituencies in favor of opposition parties and independents, he said this approach would enrich political life and increase the spirit of competitiveness and pluralism, confirming that this procedure is constitutionally and legally legitimate and contributes to enhancing popular participation in the elections.
He stressed that the Free National Coalition competes in all constituencies whether the National List is present or not, believing in the importance of competing until the end.
It is noteworthy that the Free National Coalition alliance was launched last September and includes the Democratic Generation Party, National Egypt Party, the Union, Reform and Renaissance, the Arab Socialist Egypt, Long Live Egypt, and participates in the elections through both the lists and individual systems.
