The General Authority for Statistics today released the Labor Market Statistics Bulletin for the second quarter of 2025. According to the results, the overall labor force participation rate (Saudis and non-Saudis) reached 67.1%, while the overall unemployment rate (Saudis and non-Saudis) was 3.2%. The participation rate for Saudis in the labor force was 49.2%, with an unemployment rate of 6.8%.
The bulletin showed that the participation rate of Saudi males in the labor force was 64.0%, with an unemployment rate of 4.3%. The participation rate for Saudi females was 34.5%, with an unemployment rate of 11.3%.
Regarding young Saudi females aged 15-24, the employment-to-population ratio was 13.8%, and their labor force participation rate was 17.4%. For young Saudi males, the employment-to-population ratio was 28.0%, with a labor force participation rate of 31.6%.
For Saudis aged 25 to 54, the core working age group, the employment-to-population ratio was 63.3%, and the labor force participation rate was 67.3%. The unemployment rate was 5.9%.
Regarding job search methods, the bulletin indicated that applying directly to employers was the most used method at 72.4%, followed by using the unified national employment platform (Jadarat) at 56.3%. Asking friends or relatives about job opportunities accounted for 50.5%.
