Data from the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics revealed that Egyptian exports to the UAE rose to $3.8 billion in the first half of 2025 compared to $1.5 billion in the same period of 2024, an increase of 153.3%. Meanwhile, Egyptian imports from the UAE decreased to $1 billion, down 16.6%. The trade exchange value between Egypt and the UAE increased to $4.8 billion in the first half of 2025, up 77.7% from the previous year. The main export groups from Egypt to the UAE included pearls and precious stones valued at $3.2 billion, electrical machinery at $151 million, fruits and vegetables at $111 million, vehicles and tractors at $33 million, and vegetable preparations at $26 million. Imports from the UAE to Egypt included copper and its products at $293 million, plastics at $174 million, steel and its products at $83 million, electrical and mechanical machinery and parts at $68 million, and aluminum and its products at $31 million.
UAE investments in Egypt reached $2.2 billion in the first half of fiscal year 2024/2025, up 4.8%, while Egyptian investments in the UAE reached $750.1 million, up 21.7%. Egyptian remittances from the UAE were $1.8 billion in fiscal year 2023/2024. The population of Egypt was 108 million in August 2025, while the UAE population was 11.4 million. The estimated number of Egyptians residing in the UAE was 975,000 by the end of 2023.
