The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) announced it is ready to transfer aid to the Gaza Strip but requires the green light from Israeli authorities to do so.

In a post on UNRWA’s official X account on Sunday, it stated: “During the first ceasefire, UNRWA brought in enough food supplies for one million people within the first four days, which is half the population.”

The agency added: “We have those supplies outside the Strip and the capabilities and staff inside to bring them in.”

UNRWA noted it has “75 years of experience in Gaza, with the knowledge, network, and plans in place to distribute aid effectively in the Strip. We only need the green light from Israeli authorities.”

It is worth mentioning that Israel and Hamas agreed a few days ago on a plan presented by former U.S. President Donald Trump to end the war in the Strip. The plan includes a ceasefire, Israeli forces withdrawing to certain lines, transferring humanitarian aid to the population, releasing Israelis held by Hamas, and exchanging bodies in return for the release of about two thousand prisoners from Israeli jails.
