The three major indices on Wall Street closed strongly higher on Thursday evening, as labor market data did not change the Federal Reserve’s expectations of an interest rate cut this month. Investors are awaiting the release of the US monthly jobs report on Friday.
The S&P 500 rose by 53.48 points or 0.82% to 6501.21 points, the Nasdaq Composite gained 207.26 points or 0.96% to 21704.99 points, and the Dow Jones Industrial advanced 348.71 points or 0.77% to 45619.94 points.
