Occupied Jerusalem, September 29 (Petra) – Dozens of settlers stormed the courtyards of the Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem today, Monday, from the Al-Maghariba Gate, under tight protection by the Israeli occupation police.

The Islamic Waqf Department in Jerusalem stated in a press release that the settlers carried out provocative tours inside the mosque courtyards and performed Talmudic rituals in its eastern area, while the occupation forces tightened their military measures at Al-Aqsa gates and in the Old City, causing obstruction to worshippers and Jerusalemites entering the mosque.

In a related context, the occupation forces launched a wide campaign of raids and arrests in several cities and towns in the West Bank, resulting in the arrest of 40 Palestinian citizens, including released prisoners.

In another field development, the occupation forces delivered stop-work notices for three houses and a concrete factory in the village of Hajja east of Qalqilya, northern West Bank.

The Hajja Village Council stated in a statement that the three houses are built on an area estimated at two and a half dunams, while the concrete factory belongs to citizen Mahdi Asaad Rabah, who was also asked to stop construction.
