The Israeli occupation state is moving from failure to failure on multiple levels, from starving civilians confirmed by the United Nations, to killing journalists witnessed live worldwide, to failure in managing negotiations, as acknowledged by senior US officials like Matthew Miller, former US State Department spokesperson. Israel has committed major crimes including assassinating journalists such as Al Jazeera cameraman Mohammed Salama, photographer Hossam Al-Masri, and journalist Mariam Abu Daqa. Previously, it assassinated Anas Al-Sharif, Mohammed Qariqa, and over 240 Palestinian journalists to cover up its failure to prevent the truth from Gaza. The systematic targeting of journalists exposes Israel’s failure and collapse of its narrative, demanding global journalistic solidarity and increased exposure of Israel’s crimes.
Hamas recently agreed to a ceasefire proposal presented by mediators, placing the ball in Israel’s court, which continues to prolong the war and repeatedly reneges on negotiations despite Palestinian resistance acceptance. For example, on May 5, 2024, when Hamas accepted the so-called “Biden proposal,” Netanyahu rejected it, displaced Rafah residents, occupied and destroyed the city. After the January 2025 agreement entered into effect, Israel refused to withdraw from the Salah al-Din axis and ended cooperation, escalating military pressure with ongoing starvation and displacement campaigns.
On August 18, Hamas approved a proposal similar to the Witkoff proposal, coordinated with Israel, but Israel has yet to respond positively. Mediators praised Hamas’s positive stance while Egypt noted progress and stated the ball is in Israel’s court. Netanyahu and his coalition’s obstructionist stance before the international community and negotiation bodies has been exposed. Despite internal Israeli disagreements over military operations, Hamas’s acceptance of mediator proposals has intensified political and military tensions, with Israeli Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir publicly urging Netanyahu to negotiate instead of insisting on military occupation of Gaza.
Netanyahu promised full control over Gaza even if Hamas agrees to a ceasefire, backed by US President Donald Trump. Zamir revealed a deal on the table—the amended Witkoff proposal—and said the army created conditions for it, leaving the decision to Netanyahu. The army recognizes the difficulty of operations without endangering prisoners and the determination of Gaza’s residents to resist displacement. This has caused conflict with right-wing leader Smotrich, who accused the army of not following political directives, leading to mutual accusations.
Netanyahu faces internal pressure and has attempted to initiate immediate negotiations on terms favorable to Israel, claiming Hamas’s defeat and prisoner release are not contradictory, reflecting his failure. Voices within Israel accuse Netanyahu of leading the country to disaster. Former Prime Minister Ehud Barak called for clear truth about the Gaza operation, warning of global condemnation due to destruction and killing.
Matthew Miller’s confessions about Israel’s government behavior confirm the failure of Israel’s misleading narrative. Miller stated Netanyahu is the main obstacle to ceasefire agreements by imposing new conditions each time a deal nears. Miller, once a senior US official defending Israel’s narrative, now admits its falsehood and US complicity. This signals weakening US support and increasing global outrage over Israeli war crimes in Gaza.
The UN’s official declaration of famine in Gaza, caused deliberately by Israel’s blockade preventing food and essential supplies, is another blow to Israel. Malnutrition has killed 263 people, including 112 children. Israel’s minimal aid deliveries, under 10% of normal needs, and engineered chaos facilitating aid theft by militias, worsen the humanitarian crisis. The UN famine declaration demands urgent international action, yet Israel dismisses UN and WHO reports as Hamas lies and fabrications.
Israel’s criminal policies starving Gaza’s population and killing journalists to hide the truth deepen its failures and international isolation. The assassination of journalists, especially Al Jazeera correspondents who exposed realities Israel wants hidden, highlights Israel’s criminal escalation and narrative collapse. These facts indicate Israel’s increasing exposure and the inevitability of accountability for its crimes.
