The Cairo News correspondent from Baghdad reported that preparations are underway in full swing to celebrate Iraq’s National Day on the upcoming October 3rd. She pointed out that the Baghdad Operations Command has launched a wide campaign to replace old flags with new ones on official buildings and government institutions, as part of symbolic preparations reflecting the spirit of belonging and national unity.
She added during a special coverage on Al-Cairo News Channel that these preparations coincide with significant efforts by the Iraqi government and the Ministries of Defense and Interior to secure the events and ensure their smooth flow. Security sectors have been deployed at the entrances and exits of the capital, especially in squares witnessing large crowds, aiming to secure the celebrations and prevent any breaches that could affect the atmosphere of the national occasion.
She explained that the National Day events will be manifested through raising new slogans and banners symbolizing this day, alongside popular and official activities reflecting the Iraqi people’s spirit of national belonging, confirming that this step comes within the framework of enhancing pride and esteem in national sovereignty.
She affirmed that Iraq’s National Day represents a pivotal milestone in Iraq’s history, as Iraqis recall their independence from the British mandate. She considered this day embodies sovereignty and national unity and enhances Iraq’s position in its Arab and regional surroundings as a free, independent, sovereign state.
