Sources in Gaza hospitals confirmed the martyrdom of 26 Palestinians by fire and airstrikes from occupation forces across the Gaza Strip since dawn Tuesday, including at least 5 children and 4 of them waiting for aid. According to medical sources, the attacks targeted displaced persons’ tents and citizens, in addition to aid waiting points. During the night hours, the Israeli army made a limited incursion into the Sabra neighborhood near Sabra School in southern Gaza City, coinciding with heavy artillery shelling that killed 5 people, while the Israeli army continued firing its vehicles and drones towards the neighborhood until dawn. This comes amid violent and extensive demolition operations carried out by the army in the Sabra and Zeitoun neighborhoods (southeast), and airstrikes amid the military operation that the army began on August 11. In central Gaza, 5 Palestinians, including a woman, were martyred and others injured in Israeli shelling targeting Al-Baraka Street in Deir al-Balah city.

Also, 5 Palestinians, including 3 children and a woman, were martyred in shelling of a tent belonging to the Masmah family in the Al-Bassa area. Near the Nitsarim axis, a Palestinian was martyred and others injured by Israeli gunfire near the US-Israeli aid distribution center. In the southern Gaza Strip, 4 Palestinians, including a mother and her two children, were martyred in Israeli shelling targeting a displaced persons’ tent in the Al-Mawasi area west of Khan Younis city. Two Palestinians were martyred and 10 others injured in Israeli shelling around the Applied College area in Al-Mawasi, Khan Younis. This coincided with demolition operations carried out by the occupation army on houses and facilities in central Khan Younis, along with intensive artillery shelling in several parts of the city.

In Rafah city, two people were martyred, one in Israeli shelling of a tent sheltering displaced persons opposite the Muawiya Mosque in the Al-Mawasi area, and the second by Israeli gunfire near the aid distribution center (northwest). The Nasser Medical Complex reported the martyrdom of two people waiting for aid by fire from Israeli occupation forces north of Rafah city. On August 8, the Israeli government approved a plan – proposed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu – to gradually reoccupy the Gaza Strip entirely, starting with Gaza City. On August 11, as part of implementing the plan, the Israeli army launched a wide attack on the Zeitoun neighborhood southeast of Gaza City, involving demolition of houses using explosive robots, artillery shelling, random gunfire, and forced displacement.

With US support, Israel has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, including killing, starving, destruction, and forced displacement, ignoring all international calls and International Court of Justice orders to stop. The Israeli genocide has resulted in 62,004 martyrs, 156,230 injured Palestinians, mostly children and women, over 9,000 missing, hundreds of thousands displaced, and famine that claimed 263 lives, including 112 children.
