Amman, October 9 (Petra) – The General Union of Charitable Associations appreciated the regional and international efforts that led to the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.
In a statement on Thursday, the union emphasized the significant efforts and tireless endeavors led by His Majesty King Abdullah II in defending the Palestinian cause, continuing his diligent efforts to stop the aggression, deliver aid, and his constant affirmation on the necessity of achieving a just and comprehensive peace that ends the occupation and guarantees the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
The union’s president, Amer Al-Khawaldeh, said the ceasefire represents a fundamental step towards protecting innocent lives and creating the necessary conditions to deliver urgent humanitarian and relief aid to the Palestinian people living in tragic conditions under siege and destruction that has affected infrastructure, health, and educational facilities.
Al-Khawaldeh pointed out that humanitarian work is a mission that does not stop with the ceasefire but begins anew to rebuild the people and the land, calling on all charitable institutions and volunteer bodies to unify efforts for relief, development, and reconstruction.
