Researcher and writer Ehab Omar warned that the TikTok platform will turn into the “next battlefield” in the “digital armies” war, confirming that there is a plan to direct the platform more strongly against Egypt and the Palestinian cause, after it proved effective in shaping a global public opinion sympathetic to the Palestinians.

In an interview with journalist Azza Mustafa on the program “Al Sa’a 6” on Al Hayah TV, Omar explained that TikTok was the “vanguard” for millions of activists worldwide who revealed the truth about what is happening in the Middle East, leading to a “turnaround in international public opinion against Israel and the United States,” which posed a threat to “global Zionism and interest networks.”

Omar pointed out that this shift in public opinion, which caused division even within the Trump camp due to his bias towards Israel, prompted the Trump administration to move to “muzzle TikTok.” He described the deal made in the U.S. as a “soft capitalist nationalization,” where the company was forced to sell its U.S. operations to investors close to the government and Trump, aiming to control the content reaching the American audience.

He revealed that the new TikTok board in the U.S. will consist of seven members, six of whom are Americans, ensuring full control over the platform’s policies.

In response to a question about the platform’s future use, Omar confirmed: “Certainly, TikTok will be the next battlefield, and it will be used to turn global public opinion against Egypt and the Palestinian cause.” He added that this will be done by manipulating algorithms to “contain” national and Egyptian influencers who speak about their issues, by reducing their reach, while increasing the views of content promoting the new vision of the new owners.
