Actress Elham Shahin expressed her happiness in exclusive statements to Nile Radio about the announcement of a ceasefire on Gaza following the Sharm El-Sheikh agreement, emphasizing that the current scene is a “very great scene” reflecting everyone’s desire for peace, although “war becomes obligatory when its goal is to defend land and dignity.”

Elham Shahin said that the Egyptian and Arab people experienced deep sorrow over what the Palestinian people endured of “killing, starving, and destruction that affected the elderly and children, and the demolition of homes over their owners,” pointing out that “our hearts were all with Palestine in its ordeal.”

She added, “The heavy price paid by Palestine will not be wasted, and it will regain its land, God willing,” hoping that the next phase, after the ceasefire, will witness the declaration of the Palestinian state and the activation of the two-state solution.

The actress praised the wide international support for the Palestinian cause after several countries announced their official recognition of the Palestinian state, considering this “a great moral victory for the Palestinian people.”

She also paid tribute to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, praising his “great political wisdom and his firm rejection of the forced displacement of the Palestinian people,” affirming that “this historic stance prevented the loss of the Palestinian cause.”

She concluded her statements by saying, “We all stand behind President El-Sisi and understand his national goals, as the Palestinian cause has been and will remain Egypt’s foremost cause since ancient times, and our firm position will not change.”
