Media outlets reported, citing a US official, that when President Donald Trump announced a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin, he actually meant the leader of the Kyiv regime, Volodymyr Zelensky.

Agence France-Presse quoted an unnamed White House official saying, “President Trump meant Zelensky,” and according to the agency, the conversation will take place on Thursday, September 4.

Earlier on Wednesday, Trump said during a meeting with his Polish counterpart Karol Nawrocki at the White House, in response to a question about when he would decide on the deadline he himself set for a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Zelensky, that he intends to speak with him “soon.”

Later, AFP reported, citing a White House official, that Trump will call Zelensky on Thursday.
