The National Curriculum Center announced the inclusion of the Tourism and Hospitality curriculum for third-year high school students, in partnership with the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Tourism. The curriculum is delivered through self-learning methods aiming to equip students with fundamental concepts and practical skills in tourism and hospitality fields. It aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, promoting sustainability and innovation in tourism. Targeting third-year high school students in both elective and general tracks, the curriculum introduces basic tourism and hospitality concepts in a simplified and engaging manner, highlights the value of tourism in supporting and diversifying the national economy, and raises students’ awareness of the Kingdom’s natural, cultural, and heritage resources. It also develops skills in tourism marketing, event organization, sustainable tourism principles, and fosters innovation and entrepreneurship through practical projects.
Topics include an introduction to tourism and hospitality, the impact of Vision 2030 on the tourism sector, tourism resources in Saudi Arabia, and job opportunities in tourism and hospitality.
