The Islamic Resistance Movement “Hamas” issued its first statement on Monday following the release of 20 hostages to the Zionist entity by its military wing, the “Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades,” as part of the Gaza agreement.

In a statement published on its Telegram page, the movement said, “Netanyahu and his army failed over two years of a war of extermination and destruction to liberate their prisoners by force, and ultimately had to yield to the resistance’s conditions, which affirmed that the return of their captive soldiers can only be through a prisoner exchange deal and ending the war of extermination.”

The movement confirmed its commitment to the ceasefire agreement provided that the Zionist entity also adheres to its terms.

Hamas also reiterated its confirmation of the release of 20 hostages alive as part of the first phase of “implementing President Trump’s plan to end the war in the Gaza Strip.”

The movement stated that the liberation of Palestinian prisoners, including those serving life sentences and long-term sentences, is the fruit of the heroism and steadfastness of our great people in the Gaza Strip and its brave resistance, and a pledge from the resistance to its people and prisoners, embodying the unbreakable will for liberation in the face of the new Nazis’ brutality.

The statement added, “Netanyahu and his army failed over two years of a war of extermination and destruction to liberate their prisoners by force, and ultimately had to yield to the resistance’s conditions, which affirmed that the return of their captive soldiers can only be through a prisoner exchange deal and ending the war of extermination.”

The movement continued, “The resistance exerted every effort to preserve the lives of the occupation prisoners, despite the attempts of war criminal Netanyahu and his terrorist army to target and eliminate them, while our prisoners in the occupation prisons suffer all forms of violations including torture, abuse, and killing.”

The movement concluded by affirming that the prisoners’ issue “will remain at the top of the national priorities for our people and resistance, and our Palestinian people will not find peace until the last prisoner is freed from the prisons of the new Nazis and the occupation is removed from our land and holy sites.”
