The Ukrainian army claimed on Monday that it shot down a Russian helicopter using a remotely controlled drone.

Robert Brovdi, commander of the Ukrainian drone forces, said in a Telegram post on Monday that the helicopter shot down was a Mi-8 model.

The 59th Brigade stated that the helicopter was shot down near the village of Kotlyarivka in the Donetsk region in eastern Ukraine.

It is noted that the Soviet multipurpose Mi-8 helicopters have been produced since the 1960s.

The frontline is only a few hundred meters away from the mentioned village.

According to media reports, the attack used an American-made Shahed suicide drone, which costs only a few hundred dollars.
