Eid Morsal, head of the General Union of Workers in Agriculture, Irrigation, Fishing, and Land Reclamation and Secretary-General of the Egyptian Trade Unions Federation, praised the efforts of the Egyptian political leadership under President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, which culminated in the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip after months of aggression and destruction. He emphasized that this historic decision embodies Egypt’s pivotal role as a pillar of stability in the region and a wise voice always siding with peace and humanity.

Morsal confirmed that Egypt’s firm stance in supporting the Palestinian people and its continuous calls for a ceasefire and humanitarian aid delivery reflect the courage and foresight of the political leadership. He noted that Egypt bore its historic responsibility towards its Palestinian brothers despite all challenges and, with President El-Sisi’s wisdom, was able to rally international and regional positions to stop the bloodshed.

The Secretary-General added that the visit of former U.S. President Donald Trump to Cairo, responding to President El-Sisi’s invitation, represents international appreciation for Egypt’s leading role in achieving calm and confirms that the whole world now recognizes Cairo as the key to resolving any crisis in the Middle East, due to its credibility, political weight, and balanced vision seeking just and comprehensive peace.

Morsal pointed out that Egyptian workers appreciate this great national role reflecting Egypt’s international standing under President El-Sisi’s leadership. He affirmed that the ceasefire is not only a political victory but a triumph for humanity and the values of justice and peace that Egypt believes in, saluting the efforts of Egyptian agencies that have tirelessly worked to end the tragedy in Gaza, rebuild, and restore normal life.

He also affirmed that Egypt will always remain the shield of Arabism and the support of the Palestinian brothers, and that the Egyptian labor movement stands united behind the political leadership in its efforts to protect Arab national security and achieve lasting peace in the region.
