Fox News reported that the “America 250” initiative is preparing to create the largest American flag in the world, which will be taller than the Empire State Building and nearly half the size of the Pentagon.

Fox News learned that the “America 250” initiative, affiliated with former U.S. President Donald Trump, will create the largest American flag in the world ahead of the 250th anniversary of America’s independence on July 4, 2026.

The flag is expected to be 776 feet wide and 1,492 feet long.

Sources involved in preparing the flag told Fox News that the National Mall park will not be large enough to display the flag, and officials are considering unveiling it at a massive location such as Joint Base Andrews, a NASCAR race track, or a site in Lebanon, Kansas — the geographic center of the United States.

Qatar holds the record for the largest flag in 2013, according to the Guinness World Records, with a draped flag covering 1,097,672 cubic feet.

Azerbaijan recorded the largest raised flag in 2024, with a flag area of 25,598 square feet, according to Guinness World Records.

Sources told Fox News that the largest flag prepared by the “America 250” initiative “will surpass both by far,” with an area of more than 1,157,000 square feet. It will be made in America, and “hundreds of patriots will unfold it in an exceptional moment of national unity as part of the America 250 initiative.”

The flag will be unveiled in a first-of-its-kind ceremony, likely in spring 2026.
