The Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade, led by Dr. Sherif Farouk, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, has provided food commodities and meat products at the brand outlets affiliated with the Holding Company for Food Industries under the name “carry on.” Sugar is offered at 28 EGP per kilo, mixed oil 800 ml at 52 EGP, mixed oil 1 liter at 67 EGP instead of 70 EGP, cucumbers at 16.5 EGP, lemons at 19.75 EGP, carrots at 24.5 EGP, and potatoes at 12.25 EGP per kilo.
This initiative to launch the largest government retail chain aims to restructure and modernize retail outlets nationwide, aligning with modern standards in displaying goods and services and offering them to consumers at fair prices and high-quality specifications. It targets qualifying and developing 40,000 outlets and points of sale across various governorates, including updating the overall appearance, improving management and pricing systems, and implementing digital transformation in transactions within these outlets. Thirty thousand subsidized grocery stores will be converted into modern supermarkets, 8,500 outlets from the “Gamety” project will be upgraded to hypermarkets, and 1,060 outlets affiliated with the Holding Company for Food Industries will be fully updated under the “Carry On” system.
Dr. Sherif Farouk, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, recently inaugurated the first three consumer outlets affiliated with the Holding Company for Food Industries after their development in Cairo Governorate. He opened the Girls’ College branch, the Sayeda Zeinab branch, and the Amiriya branch via video conference as part of launching the largest government retail chain under the name “carry on.” The inauguration was attended by Dr. Bahaa El-Ghannam, Head of the Egypt Future Sustainable Development Authority, Dr. Ibrahim Saber, Governor of Cairo, Major General Walid Abu El-Magd, Deputy Minister of Supply, and Dr. Eng. Alaa Nagi, Chairman of the Holding Company for Food Industries.
