Media personality Osama Kamal stated that the answer is Egypt, pointing out that Egypt has taken a steadfast and supportive stance on the Gaza issue at humanitarian, political, and operational levels.
During the program “Masaa DMC,” aired on the “DMC” channel, Kamal added that considerations of interests were not the basis of Egypt’s decision, but rather history, humanity, and responsibility.
Kamal explained that Egypt demonstrated its position by opening the Rafah crossing to receive world leaders to witness the reality, organizing aid convoys, providing medical hosting for children and patients, sending delegations and humanitarian initiatives, and involving Egyptians in blood donations.
He also referred to diplomatic moves at the international level, including what he described as the role of the Foreign Minister in calls to stop what he called genocide.
Kamal confirmed that the Suez Canal lost more than 9 billion dollars over two years, but this did not deter Egypt from its position.
He clarified that despite pressures, accusations, and internal and external media attacks, Cairo maintained its stance rejecting any new displacement or settlement that affects Palestinian rights.
Kamal said that Egyptian media, through his program and others, did not adopt cold neutrality but sided with the humanitarian and rightful side, adding that citizens’ participation appeared in various popular practices such as prayer, supplication, donations, and drawing the Palestinian flag on children’s notebooks.
He said that the current joy is the beginning of healing despite ongoing wounds, considering that history will remember those who stood with the truth.
