A group of leading researchers and experts highlighted during their participation in the “Minds” forum, organized yesterday by the Abu Dhabi Stem Cells Center (ADSCC) at the Earth Hotel, the transformative role of artificial intelligence in advancing medical research and life sciences towards unprecedented horizons.
The forum, held under the theme “Artificial Intelligence in Innovative Sciences,” discussed strategic prospects for employing AI in vital fields including drug discovery and design, genomics, development of nanobodies, and enhancing researchers’ efficiency within laboratories.
Participants affirmed that this technology does not replace humans but rather acts as a partner that multiplies their capabilities, accelerates the pace of medical discoveries, and creates a qualitative leap in the future of medicine.
A Fundamental Support
Professor Yendri Ventura, the center’s CEO, stated that artificial intelligence is a fundamental support that enhances human intellect rather than replacing it. The center views AI as a pivotal partner that accelerates the transition from research to treatment, raises scientific accuracy levels, and opens horizons for medical discoveries capable of making radical transformations in people’s lives. This approach practically reflects the UAE’s vision to establish itself as a global center for health innovation.
Dr. Tamara Menendez, a researcher at the center, explained that the integration between the analytical power provided by AI and human creativity is an opportunity to reshape future treatments.
